Houston calling

Hello from my second-favourite side of the pond! Today was a very exciting day at Market with Schoolhouse all day (a whole load of presentations by all sorts of people - designers, manufacturers and bloggers), followed by a reception thing (free cheese, that's all I'm saying), and then the madness of sample spree. Sample spree is taken very seriously, although I am not that sure why. Bearing in mind that the majority of people who are there can buy as much fabric as they like at wholesale prices, the hysteria seems a little unjustified. I, on the other hand, was completely justified in my hysteria. I may have got a little carried away, but I will leave it up to you to judge (sorry about the appalling photo - it's dark).

I'm so excited with the pearl bracelet bundle, although I did have to immediately open it and reorder the fabrics correctly. They had put the orange next to the green. Shudder.
all better now
And this is my haul of freebies which I plan on adding to tomorrow. I have about a million tote bags, but they are not exciting enough to feature. And there is a special something for Pennie, but that's so gorgeous that I don't want to spoil the surprise. Hehehehe.
Oh, and the most exciting thing that happened all day was walking past Anna Maria Horner while wearing my washi dress, and her saying "nice dress!" I managed to respond with "nice fabric!" which I thought was pretty coherent, given that my brain had immediately melted and dribbled out of my left ear. It's pretty surreal being here, I have to say.

  5. HaHaHa! About the dress, and rearranging the fabric into the correct colour order. Really you should offer your services as an advisor. I am sure they would snap you up right away. And nice haul in the fabric department. I am trying to be really, really happy for you here.

  12. I never understood the madness either. I've never been there but I have an idea of what it might look like. I guess they're excited about the fact that they'll get fabric before everyone else ?
And I heard the fabric is not even cheaper than when you buy it online. At first, I thought people where mad because the fabric was free but no. It's not !

Anyway. I love the pearl bracelet !!

"I managed to respond with "nice fabric!" which I thought was pretty coherent, given that my brain had immediately melted and dribbled out of my left ear." LOL !!! that's all I have to say !

  26. What a great haul. So, is sample spree the only buying opportunity you have there that's not preordering bolts? Trying to figure out what it is, as I read about it each year, but am everyone tells us what they got, but not what it actually is :)
